Snow White and the S.I.C.K." – Theatre 13’s 2014 production written by Helen Heron.
Snow White is a young orphaned princess who lives together with her conceited step-mother, the Queen. The girl is very popular – and extremely beautiful. The Queen, though, believes that she herself is the most attractive person in the kingdom and regularly asks her magic mirror to confirm her thoughts. But, one day, the mirror tells the Queen that Snow White now exceeds the Queen in beauty…the Queen is so upset that she doesn’t know what to do. Her slimy attendant, Slimyslither, advises her to ‘get rid’ of Snow White and hatches a plan for the Huntsman to take Snow White into the forest and kill her. The Queen is thrilled, so she summons the servant and orders him to do so.
In the forest, the Huntsman cannot bear to kill Snow White, so he tells her never to come back to the castle and leaves her alone. Wandering around, Snow White meets several characters and has some interesting conversations, until she finally reaches a small house that seems to be home to many people. Soon she meets the tenants, the S.I.C.K., the Seven Intellectually-Challenged Kobolds, who are very happy to meet her – except Moody, the bad-tempered dwarf. After a short discussion, the kobolds allow Snow White to stay and keep house for them.
Back at the castle, the wicked Queen feels at ease. She is convinced she will no longer be compared to Snow White. So you can guess how annoyed she is when she finds out that Snow White is still alive! The Queen’s three sisters, who are all witches, come to help find Snow White.
Will the Queen manage to get rid of Snow White once and for all? Will Snow White manage to escape? What will the dwarves do? If you would like to know, do come and watch our show! We are looking forward to seeing you and finding out, how all that is well will end well. And we can assure you – our shows always have a very happy ending!
